Commercial Dryer Vent Cleaning for Apartments
Fast & Reliable Service
Dryer Vent Cleaning for Apartments in Metro Detroit
As part of providing a “safe and inhabitable property” for your tenants, landlords are often responsible for getting the dryer vents cleaned on their rental property. When you have a large commercial property, like an apartment complex, that can be a large endeavor that the maintenance crew may just not have time to do. Hydro Clean of Michigan provides apartment managers with a reliable solution to dyer vent cleaning.
Although dryer vents are a minor maintenance issue, not cleaning them is a serious risk. Over 15,000 fires start each year because of poor dryer maintenance.
In fact, Insurance companies recommend dryer vents be cleaned every 6 months to 1 year depending on the usage. In an apartment community with shared laundry facilities, you’ll want to have the dryer vents cleaned more often.

Is Cleaning the Dry Vents at Your Commercial Property Necessary?
Having dryer vents cleaned is important for health, safety, and economic reasons.
Safety
Clogged dryer vents are a fire hazard. The debris can overheat from the hot dryer air and begin to burn. According to the National Fire Protection Association, almost 6,000 fires a year are related to dryer malfunctions and 1/3 of those are due to lint build up in the dryer and vent.

Economic
If you provide laundry facilities in your apartment complex, you may be spending more money on appliances than you need to. The useful life of the dryer will be shortened if it operates in a clogged condition consistently.
If you provide an all bills paid property, clogged dryer vents cause be costing you money. Longer dry cycles or multiple dry cycles are required to get your tenants’ clothes dried.
Health
Dust and debris in the dryer vent can provide a breeding ground for mold and mildew. When these mold spores can become airborne, they can make their way into the clothing and the apartment itself.
